Second Annual Secret Santa!

IMPORTANT All members can start submitting their SS's into the Secret Santa folder, which should now be open for submissions! You have from now until the 4th to submit these drawings and show off what you did!

Hey guys! Dappled here. I know it’s kinda late in November... but the admins and I are already gearing up for the holiday season. We hope to have a few Christmas themed activities for you to do later on as the holidays get closer but you have the opportunity to sign up for one now. EBC will be holding it’s own Secret Santa project and in order for us to have enough time to pass out names and get pictures in, you’ll need to throw your name and characters in now. So, if you’re interested in taking part, please read the rest of the information below.

We need at least 10 people to sign up before we'll be able to do this project.

I’m sure most of you know but for those that don’t, a Secret Santa is like a special art trade. You’ll be given a name from those that have signed up for you to draw for. You’ll have a certain amount of time to draw them a special pictures of one or more of the characters they asked for and then around Christmas day, you’ll submit your picture to the group for your special someone to see. Of course, someone will be drawing for you so you’ll be surprised with a picture too! That’s the fun!

Of course, everything that happens with the project is meant to be kept a secret! You may talk to the admins about your gift (unless the person you're drawing for is an admin) but otherwise you must keep anything you are doing a complete secret until the time comes for you to upload your picture.

Only members of EBC are allowed to join.

You may only list your EBC characters as characters to draw. Any OCs outside of this group are not allowed!

You may only draw for the person whose name your were given! Limit your gifts to one picture for that person as well

You must draw one of the characters your person has listed. Don't go looking through their gallery and pick the character of theirs you like best. If that character is not listed in their sign-up comment then it's off limits. Period.

Please expect to spend time on these pictures. Your half should be a fully finished picture! (at least flat colors with a solid background at minimum) Quick sketches and uncolored pieces will not be acceptable.  If you don't think you'll have enough time between sign-ups and the final deadline to get something done, then don't sign up.

Do NOT submit your picture to your/the group's gallery until you are given the word to do so!

All artwork for this project MUST BE your own. No bases, traced art, or photo manips. You wouldn't want to spend hours on a picture only for your person to simply color in a base, now would you?

First, you'll sign-up to take part in this project by filling out the "Sign-Up Form" below and leaving a comment on this journal. Please make sure you fill out all the information clearly and precisely. Be sure to include all of your EBC characters that you'd like your person to pick from too. If they're not listed by the time sign-ups close, then they won't be included. If you need to edit any information to your initial comment, then do so in a reply to your own comment.

Sign-ups close November 28th! After this, on either November 29th or 30th, you'll receive a note with the name of the person that you'll be drawing for as well as any information they included on their comment here. You'll then have until until December 22nd to get a picture for your person done. If you get done early do NOT upload your picture to your gallery! This is important. Wait until we post a journal giving you the go ahead.

Once you do finish your picture, you'll need to send a conformation note that you're finished. If you have another site that you can upload your picture to (e.i: photobucket; imageshack, etc.) please send a link to your finished picture with this note as proof. This preview doesn't need to be the full sized version of your finished piece and can be deleted as soon as an admin sees it. It's just something that we can look at to check you off as done. If you're not drawing for an admin, then please send your conformation note straight to the group. If you are drawing for a certain admin, then please send your note to an admin privately, meaning their personal account. This shouldn't be an issue. If you're drawing for say me, then send a note to either HoundFlash The-Skykian-Archives tictactie or Hawklier and they'll take care of it. If you're drawing for another admin, send the note to any of the above listed names or myself and we will mark you down

December 17th is the "First" due date. Anyone who isn't done by this point will be sent another note asking about their progress. You need to reply to this note! Your reply doesn't need to be anything fancy. A simple "I'm working on my picture. It will be done by the due date." will be good enough, just so we know that you know. Anyone who doesn't reply to this note will be considered inactive and we'll have a back-up artist take over your spot. You'll also receive a death strike for your character.

December 22nd is the final due date. All participants need to have sent a note telling an admin that you're done by then! Anyone who sent us a note for the first due date but hasn't sent in a completed confirmation note will be considered inactive and will be given a death strike. We'll then find a back-up artist to fill in your spot last minute. Please, if you sign up, don't drop out unless you have a good reason to!

On December 24th, a "2013 Secret Santa" gallery folder will be opened for you to start submitting your finished pictures to. You'll have between the 24th and the 26th to submit your pictures to this folder. Keep watch on this folder for your Secret Santa's picture to be submitted too.

If, for some strange reason, your person doesn't submit their picture by the 26th, then send a note to the group and let us know! We'll get in contact with this person to see what's going on. If they can't get your picture up for any reason, we'll find a quick back-up artist to do something for you as soon as we can.
